Voltage TV’s three-part documentary heads across Europe and Australia.
Voltage TV’s Osama Bin Laden series for Channel 4 has sold to several European channels and Australia’s SBS.
Distribution agency Drive has struck a deal on a string of international sales for Osama Bin Laden: The Inside Story, shopping it to SBS, Sweden’s SVT, DR in Denmark and NRK in Norway.
Drive said a “major French broadcaster” had also acquired the three-part series.
The Voltage show includes exclusive access to Al Qaeda members as it examines the life and motivations of the infamous global terrorist.
London-based Voltage is also behind BBC format What We Are Feeding Our Kids, ITV’s celebrity-fronted DNA Journey and its two-part special Ant & Dec’s DNA Journey.
Osama bin Laden: The Inside Story premiered on Channel 4 on Monday 6 September as Bin Laden: The Road to 9/11. The debut episode took a consolidated seven-day total of 986,000 / 4.7%, according to overnights.tv.
“Through extraordinary access to a wide range of voices from both the east and the west, this series paints the complete picture of the man who is widely considered the most infamous terrorist in history, and as such we expect this series to resonate with viewers right across the world,” said Drive joint managing director Ben Barrett.
